Traveling has been my passion from a young age. Whether domestic or abroad, it is one of my greatest joys to explore new places and meet new people.

Whether it is figuring out how to use public transportation or ordering unfamiliar food, navigating foreign environments has given me confidence and sense of adaptability I would not have developed by staying at home. Because of this, I can welcome new situations and see them as adventures instead of fearing them.

Traveling has also made me aware of cultural values and norms outside of my hometown. For example, in Peru, I learned that their two-hour lunch stems from their focus on family time over work. In New York City, people talk quickly – they are not just rude. Gaining a variety of perspectives – whether from traveling across the US region, or across the pond – will be invaluable as I look to a career in public relations, where I’ll need to understand a variety of perspectives and appreciate where people are coming from.
